MIOLI

Move It Or Lose It !

It is no surprise or secret that humans need to move. We need to engage all our body parts and systems, or we lose function and start to suffer ill-health. Many dis-eases occur simply because we are not active enough. Incidentally, the word mioli means ‘my joy’ in old Italian, which is exactly how I encourage you to view and experience natural movement – to be sustainable, it must be fun and spark joy. For me, some form of natural movement daily is ‘my joy’.

Movement is the natural state for humans, as it is for all living organisms. Natural or primal movement, especially, is deeply part of our evolution. We have developed and continue to refine many forms of wonderful movement, such as walking, running, climbing, swimming, cycling, dancing, yoga, Tai Chi, chi gong, martial arts, strength training, stretching and much more. These all improve our flexibility, balance, coordination, cardiovascular health, strength, endurance, breathing, sleep, digestion, grace and relaxation.

I have been deeply influenced by and taught movement traditions like martial arts, Tai Chi, chi gong, yoga and natural primal movement for over 3 decades. I offer sessions in various movement styles individually or in combination. You can choose a specific form or a mixed session, with the goal of learning beneficial movements that you can use ongoing throughout your life, to suit your time, ability, age and lifestyle. Movement sessions are always connected to nature in some way.

Check out my movement sessions under the MIOLI heading.
